The Santoku is a Japanese cook’s (or chef’s) knife, featuring a low-tip style with a broad blade. A cross between a cook’s knife and a vegetable chopper, each knife features an exceptionally sharp cutting edge that slices through vegetables and meats with more ease than the thicker cook’s knife. Great for chopping – but one problem
This is a great knife set. My husband loves the weight, the grasp, and most importantly the blades themselves. However, after less than a month of having them (and washing by hand), the larger knife has developed some rust spots. Now, I realize that stainless isn’t “stainnever” but I would have expected the silver luster to remain for a bit longer.
Good Cheap set of Knives
Bought this set to replace some we got for our wedding eight years ago. I was a bit skeptical given the price, however I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of these blades. Obviously, these are not “chef-grade” knives, but I cook almost every week night and I am constantly chopping veggies and such and these do the trick. They are very sharp, have a good weight to them and have not slipped when cutting through tougher and slippery items (like just washed potatoes). Have seen others with complaints about rusting and I suggest hand washing your knives…this will cut down on premature dulling as well.

I usually get very skeptical when it comes to ‘sets’. I took some chef courses in college and I must tell you that this set is unbeatable. The smooth texture and the design makes the cutting and dicing a breeze. From vegetables to meats these knives really does the job. I would recommend this product to any domestic diva or wanna be chef or even the non amateurs (real every day chefs) to try this product. It makes a GREAT GIFT and a MUST product for any kitchen.
